The police in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued twenty three animals from the clutches of smugglers.
Police said that a team headed by SHO Thanamandi Fareed Ahmed under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police Officer Thanamandi Sajjad Khan was on routine patrolling and naka checking on link road intervening night near Bhangai when a person Abdul Haq son of Hassan Mohammad resident of Kot was intercepted who was involved in bovine smuggling.
23 bovines being smuggled on foot were rescued and accused was arrested.
A case in FIR 117/2020 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Thanamandi police station.
