Hundred’s Attend In Funeral Prayers,
Condolences Poured from Different Sections Across the Valley

Kupwara: Acclaimed writer, poet,author Abdul Rasheed Shaheen of Takiya Khurhama Lolab left for heavenly abode after prolonged illness on Thursday evening.The deceased was the elder brother of Maqbool Nadeem, who currently is General Secretary of literary body ‘Shehjaar-i-Adab Lolab’.
Shaheen,who died on Thursday evening around 09:30pm,was detected to have been suffering from a tumour by doctors a few years back and was bed-ridden since then.
Shaheen’s funeral prayers witnessed by a huge number of people including Writers,Poets,Author’s and subsequently his funeral prayers were held at 10am on Friday morning and was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard.
Meanwhile ‘Shehjaar-i-Adab Lolab’ has expressed its deep sorrow on the demise of Shaheen,terming his death a big loss to the fraternity.They have extended their heartfelt condolences with the family members and with Maqbool Nadeem in particular.
The condolences have poured in from across different sections across the valley,with everyone unequivocally terming the death of Shaheen as a huge loss to the literary fraternity.
VC DDC Kupwara Haji Farooq Mir has also expressed his grief and sorrow on the sad demise of retired teacher and poet.
In a handout received by this newspaper Inside Kashmir, Mir said “I extend my deep sympathies to the bereaved family and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul”.
“The deceased was pious,god fearing and a noble human being and his death is a great loss to the people of Khurhama”, he further remarked.
Notably,Cultural Trust Kupwara,Joiye Adab Kaej Naag Handwara Kashmir,Mehbooba Ul Aalam Litrerally Society Rajwar Handwara and other literally organisations have also expressed deep sorrow about passing out of Shaheen and have prayed for the departed soul.They have also extended deep sympathies and have extended heartfelt condolences with Maqbool Nadeem in particular and with the breaved family In general.
Famous Writer and Former Assistant Director Food Ashraf Nissar while terming him a pious and polite personality.”My deepest condolences to the brieved family.May Allah grant higest place in jannah to Rasheed Shaheen sahib”,Nissar wrote oh his Facebook wall.
Syed Junaid Ul Islam,Editor In Chief Inside Kashmir has also extended his heartfelt condolences with the family members and have prayed for the departed.(IK)
