Sopore, July 20 : At a time when all eyes are set on the government officials as pandemic has taken an ugly turn in Kashmir, the crucial post of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district continues to remain vacant.

Locals of various areas in Sopore said, works and issues related to general public in the areas that include Zainageer, Khue, Wadoora Payeeen, Achabal and the other are stuck as there is no ADC for these areas.

Residents told, ever since the former ADC Sopore, Ashiq Hussain Lilly was transferred and posted as the Member J&K Service Selection Board on June 4, the post has been vacant, resulting in the huge inconvenience to the people of the area.

“The government is reluctant to give priority to fill this vacant post, which is crucial for addressing public issues,” said locals.

Meanwhile people have appealed the LG G C Murmu to look into the issue as to why the important post is vacant since past 40 days.
