Anhad Community Centre Marks Int’l Women’s Day

Kupwara, Anhad Community Centre has marked the International Women’s Day at guest house Khumriyal Lolab.

As per the statement recieved by this newspaper reads, as across the globe, the day for women’s was througly celebrated throughout the country & different kinds of programs were held in order to highlight the significance of the women in the community, Anhad Community Centre, in Khumriyal lolab has Celebrated the day with huge & great fervor.

The program was attended by the number of dignitaries following by the women’s from the adjacent areas.

The dignitaries unequivocally highlighted the importance of the women’s in our society and has equal rights before the law.

One of the dignitary while addressing the gathering said “women’s are running parallel to the men nowadays. We shouldn’t discriminate between men & women as law has given equal rights to both”, adding “Celebrating such occasions provide an opportunity to hear their pleas and highlight their rights and duties, provided by the constitution”,

The other dignitaries who addressed on the eve including Shayista Muzaffar, Social Welfare Dept, Mission Vatsalya Kupwara, Abreena Akhter, Student Cutting & Tailoring, Anhad Community Centre, Shamsul Mushtaq, Principal Shah Anwar Memorial School Khumriyal, Adv Nadia Firdous, Dr Shugufta Qazi, Medical Officer Sogam Lolab, Nafisa Mushtaq, Computer Teacher, Anhad Community Centre, Mehraj Bhat, Study Box Kupwara & Ishfaq Ahmad, member Anhad Community Centre.

Rabia Rashid presented the song “Bekhauf Azad Hai Jeena Mujhe”, followed by Shayista Akhter, student presented a Kashmiri folk dance, Ulfat Aara perfomed Pahadi folk dance, Abdul Raouf, coordinator Anhad Community Centre sung a song “Barabari Hai Chahiye, Barabari Ki Baat Kar”,.

Anhad Community Centre, which operated in Nov-22 in Khumriyal, is committed to sensitise people of Kupwara around gender issues apart from imparting skill training like computer courses, crewel embroidery, machine knitting, tailoring, cutting & running a library at Anhad Community Centre, Nawa Bazar, Khumriyal, Kupwara.
