Uri, Jan 14 (IK): Army 161 BN on Thursday celebrated Armed Forces Veterans Day in which 250 retired army personnel participated. The officials at the occasion impressed upon the retirees to help people and be in touch with the unit to take the nation forward.
According to press release issued, Army said that it celebrates Armed Forces Veterans day every year on 14th January to generate bonhomie among the locals and to resolve issues and problems faced by veterans.
“161 Infantry Battalion TA(H&H) JAK LI under aegis of Dagger Division organized and celebrated 5th Armed Forces Veterans Day for veterans of AOR of Baramulla District located in remote area of North Kashmir on 14 Jan 2021”, an army official said.
He added the event was attended by 250 plus brave veterans. Furthermore, 161 Inf Bn TA (H&H) JAK LI made efforts to invite the veterans and established Medical Checkup Camp, ECHS counter, SBI Bank counter, CSD extension counter.
He further added the event provided a platform to veterans to interact and resolve their issues. At the culmination of event high tea was organized at the location. The veterans expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Army for organizing this event. (IK)
