Demand Pending Dues And Protective Gear Kits

Sopore, May 15 : Scores of Asha workers working at SDH Sopore held a protest against higher ups of health department Sopore on Friday.
The protesters alleged that they were working on meagre incentives which remains pending from last 06 months. They said a good number of Asha workers at SDH sopore are not getting protective kits to carry out the work. Now that so many Asha workers were worked in containment zones and are going door to door to identify infected persons by putting themselves at risk. They told that very few Asha workers were given to PPE kits.
While shouting slogans against health department The protested Asha workers also demanded back their coordinator who were recently transfer from sopore to other place with out any reason.
However, a health officer said Asha workers are provided gloves, masks and they did not require PPE kits, as they are supposed to maintain a social distance while collecting Information from people during the door to door survey. They are provided a basic kit, PPE kits are to be used by hospital staff. Officer said.
