Banks will start depositing ₹500 per month in Jan Dhan accounts held by women from April 3 under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, the Indian Banks’ Association said. The relief measure was announced by the government last month to mitigate the impact of the 21-day nationwide lockdown. This is the first of the three monthly instalments, totalling to ₹1,500.
