Baramulla admin orders repair work of damaged water pipeline in Rampur Uri

Uri: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Ittoo on Thursday took strong note of damaged water pipeline in Rampur Uri of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and ordered concerned officials to press men and machinery at an earliest.

According to IK correspondent, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Baramullah, several civil and police officials rushed to Rampur Uri early morning and ordered the technical staff of PHE (Jal Shakti Department) to repair the damaged water pipeline.

Yesterday IK reported that the water coming down from the damaged water pipeline caused four accidents in a single day, resulting injuries to two persons who were moved to nearby health centres for treatment. At the occasion two vehicles including Alto K10 and I10 fell down into Jhelum which however have been retrieved today after hectic efforts.

Locals earlier told IK that the water pipeline was laid by MES, however after official enquiry it was found that the said pipeline comes under Public Health Engineeing (JalShakti Department).

People of the area thanked Deputy Commissioner G N Ittoo, Police officials and particularly IK who brought the matter into the notice of administration. (IK)
