GUWAHATI : In operations, troops of Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler and rescued 120 cattle heads from the bordering areas of District Coochbehar (West Bengal) , Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) On intervening night of 18/19 Sept’ 2020. Acting on tip off, on 19 Sept’ 2020, troops of BSF BOP NDA of 41 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village 60 Bigha, PS- Sukhchar, Distt- South Salmara (Assam) and apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with 14 cattle heads, while these were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Apprehended cattle smuggler is identified as Soleman Ali, (40 Yrs), S/o Anar Ali, Vill- Naulakhi, PO/PS- Sukhchar, Distt- South Salmara (Assam). Apprehended cattle smuggler along with cattle heads have been handed over to Police Station Sukhchar, Distt- South Salmara (Assam) for further legal action. Besides above, vigilant Seema Praharis of BSF have also rescued 106 Nos cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Distt Coochbehar (WB), Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes.
