CEC, DC Kargil visit AJUIAK, IKMT Premises, Hussaini Park, Qatilgah.

Take stock of overall arrangements for 9th and 10th Muharram processions

KARGIL:  Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan along with the Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today visited Anjuman e Jamiat ul Ulema Isna Ashariya Kargil (AJUIAK)/Islamia School Premises, Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), Kargil Premises, Hussaini Park, Qatilgah, Old Taxi Stand besides other important locations and took stock of the overall arrangements being made by the District Administration for 9th Muharram and Ashura processions to be held across Kargil Town.

A team of senior officers of the District and Police Administration including the SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Choudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Tsering Motup, Additional SP Kargil Iftikhar Talib Choudhary, Assistant Commisioner Revenue (ACR) Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Chief Medical Officer Kargil (CMO) Kargil Munawar Hussain Wazir, Tehsildar Kargil Muhammad Saleem Wazir, Nodal Officers for Muharram arrangements, officers of Health,PHE, PDD, MC and other officers concerned accompanied the CEC and DC during the visit. 

The CEC while expressing satisfaction over the arrangements and directed to ensure cleanliness in and around the AJUIAK premises, Hussaini Park, Qatilgah and all Imam Baras besides ensuring proper sanitation of roads from where processions will pass. 

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CEC directed the concerned officers to ensure strict adherence of the SOPs like maintenance of social distancing, wearing of masks, proper sanitization and other mandatory measures so that the 9th and 10th Muharram processions are held in a smooth and hassle free manner. 

CEC Khan also urged the representatives of AJUIAK and IKMT Kargil to extend proactive support and cooperation to the Administration in holding of the 9th Muharram and Ashura processions with proper adherence of SOPs so that the health and safety of the mourners is not compromised in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CEC also directed the Police authorities to ensure proper security and traffic management during the day. The PHE, Health and Power Development Department were directed to ensure proper arrangements for adequate medicare, drinking water and uninterrupted power supply facilities.

CEC Khan also called for close coordination between the religious organizations and the concerned departments so that all possible service delivery can be ensured to people during the observance of 9th Muharram and Ashura e Hussaini.
