Kupwara: In a bid to educate the public about the significance of plants’, a plantation drive was carried out by Civil Society Lolab, Ek Ehsas In Unison With Tehsil Legal Service Committee and Kamraj Forest Division Kupwara in Rangward Lalpora here on Tuesday.
The plantation drive was attended by Tehsildar Lalpora/ Sogam, SHO Lalpora, Range Officer Sogam, Block Forest Officer Sogam, Joint Director Forest Protection Officer alongside with different schools including Anwar Memorial High School Lalpora, Extroverts Educational Institute, RP School Thundoosa, Al-Noor English Medium, UPS Khos-Mohalla, Middle School Rangward, teachers’ and the PRI’s.
Addressing on the plantation drive, Imran Hanief Khan, Chairman Tehsil Legal Service Committee Sogam unequivocally threw light on the significance of afforestation, environmental laws and it’s protection.
Dr Mudasir Akhbar Shah, who is also President of Civil Society Lolab highlighted the role of plants’ for our future generation. He said that “in every three seconds, forests equals to one complete football field are being cut down in the world. This act is causing a massive demage to the environment, resulting in increase of global warming”,
“In such situation, it’s the responsibility of every nitizen to plant more tress and take utmost care of them”, Dr Mudasir further added,
The aim of the plantation drive was to make educate the public about the importance of trees and make them realise about their responsibilities towards imparting tress.
At the end of the drive, Dr Mudasir Shah unequivocally extend heartiest gratitude to the participants for making the event successful.
