Senior leader and political activist of Ganderbal Sheikh Ghulam Ahmad Saloora on Monday urged Divisional commissioner to listen to the pleas of thousands of patients who are suffering miserably due to closure of District Hospital Ganderbal.
Saloora said its very unfortunate that despite clear instructions from the LG’s Advisor and Incharge Covid-19 affairs, Baseer Ahmad Khan during his recent visit to Ganderbal, The Divisional Administration, headed by the Div Comm Kashmir and the health authorities are yet to shift the covid-19 isolation facility to JNV and the hospital still remains closed for common patient care.
Saloora asked why miseries of thousands of poor patients are not considered and why despite all arrangements made at JNV, District Hospital is not opened for health facilities?
He added that its purely injustice that for a handful Covid positive cases, such a large structure and the one and only multi speciality hospital in Ganderbal has been shut and people are made to suffer the most.
Saloora said, after the directions passed by the Advisor a week ago, it was assured that the Covid-isolation ward would be shifted to JNV, Hatbara and the hospital services would be restored within 3-4 days. But, so many days have passed and DH Ganderbal still remains suspended and closed for public whereas only a few Covid positive cases are kept there thus by making thousands of poor patients to suffer so miserably.
Ganderbal people especially the poor patients with different health ailments are eagerly waiting for DH to restore routine work.
Saloora appealed Lt. Governor and his Advisor, Baseer Ahmad Khan to intervene and order for instant opening of the hospital for patient services, otherwise people are Ganderbal will be forced to take to streets to protest against this big injustice as the health situation in the district is deteriorating at a fast rate.
