:In a bid to facilitate the stranded labourers in their interstate movement, the district administration Rajouri under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Wednesday has sent a fleet of fourteen vehicles carrying 425 labourers, all hailing from Madhya Pradesh to Katra from where they shall be transported to their home state in a special train.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration has put in place all the necessary arrangements for the smooth, safe and free of cost journey of the labourers up to Katra. He added that a liaison officer has been deputed in each vehicle who is moving with the labourers up to Katra to take care of their needs and to ensure that they don’t feel any inconvenience during their journey and these officers shall report back after dropping the persons at the scheduled place.
Deputy Commissioner said that the process of registration of these labourers in the district has been done by the labour department Rajouri. He also said that all the logistics arrangements in terms of food, drinking water and other essentials have been made by the district administration to facilitate the labourers during their journey.
He also said that these persons are being sent to their homes after onsite screening by the Doctors.
The labourers on the occasion have expressed their thanks to the district administration for taking this step of sending them back to their home state. They have also applauded the efforts of district administration for taking care of their demands and needs during the lockdown period in the district.
Among others present on the occasion include Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, District Information Officer, Narinder Raina Block Development Officer, Mohd Zubair, Inspector from the Motor Vehicle Department, Rajeev Bhasin and Health Officers.
