Kupwara:- Kupwara Police on Friday warned of strict action against those spreading rumours to create fear among the people in the North Kashmiri’s Kupwara District and appealed to all to not pay attention to baseless information.
SSP Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar told that a wave of misinformation and rumours on Coronavirus is creating panic among people in the district.
“Since the Coronavirus outbreak, misinformation, especially through WhatsApp, has risen. I appeal to people not to give heed to these rumours.
There is nothing to panic and no case of Coronavirus has been reported from Kupwara,” Ambarkar told Global News Network.
He said that strict action will follow against rumour mongers. He advised people to stay indoors and stop venturing out unnecessarily.
“People need to avoid visiting markets and hospitals unnecessarily,” he said adding that everything in the district is under control and there is no need to panic.
