In view of Ramadhan, the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal on saturday visited various areas of town besides District Industries Unit Ganderbal to review the availability of essential commodities in the district.
During the visit he was accompanied by ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, General Manager DIC, and other officials.
The DC reviewed the availability of essential commodities including vegetables, fruits, milk, and other eatable items in the district.
On the occasion the DC said that the District Administration has framed holistic mechanism to ensure all essential commodities are available in every part of the district especially in the month of Ramadhan.
In this regard the District Administration is reviewing the supply positon of these essential commodities with the concerned officials regularly, he added.
During his visit to District Industries Unit, the DC inspected bread manufacturing unit where the concerned briefed the DC about production capacity of the unit.
It was also informed that the bread manufactured in the unit are supplied to district Ganderbal besides other districts also.
The DC urged the concerned to ensure that fresh and quality bread are supplied in the market after checking all laid down quality parameters.
He also stressed on all workers of the unit for following laid down advisories with regard to Covid-19 including maintaining social distancing and using face masks.
The DC also reviewed the manufacturing and stitching of cotton masks in the unit and stressed the concerned for completing the stitching of masks within a stipulated time frame.
Pertinent to mention here that District Administration has already distributed about more than 2 lac masks in the district including 1.9 lac free masks in rural areas and 13500 in urban areas among AAY and PHH beneficiaries at their doorsteps.
