Srinagar: Residents of Sopore town have been complaining about the dysfunctional street lights.Locals claim that it has been a long time since these lights are lying dysfunctional .no one is paying heed to this matter.
Nisar Ahmed, a fruit seller, said ” I am a fruit seller I have no other source of income, I would work till night but due to non-availability of Street lights I have to return home early.”
“There always remains apprehension of street dogs after sunset, due to darkness we cannot roam about freely in the streets. Now we appeal to the concerned department to get these lights repaired so that we may not suffer henceforth”, said another Resident, Altaf Ahmed.
When we took up the matter to the Executive officer he said, “There are many high mast lights that are out of order. We will soon be calling tenders for their restoration “.
