Sopore: Scores of persons with disabilities staged a protest demonstration against the Social Welfare department at Hathlangoo area of the sub division Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Protestors allege Social Welfare department for failing to release their funds they receive as assistance.
Hajira Begam a female protester said, “We have been told that you will receive money as an assistance but we haven’t received a single penny till now”.
Similarly another person with disorder told, “there is not even a single day we went to banks to check our released dues but we always come with empty hands as department is playing with our feelings,
Protester added, “I’m the only bread earner among five family members and we all are disabled, it’s hard for me to manage.”
Meanwhile when contacted Official at Social welfare department, He said, “we are looking into this matter, we have released the funds but some are pending, We hope we will resolve the issue soon as we are working on it”.
