RAJOURI, JUNE 10:The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Wednesday handed over a cheque of Rs.181251 as financial assistance to Mr. Haqam Din, a casual labourer of GREF for the treatment of his injured leg. The compensation amount has been provided under the Employee Compensation Act for permanent/ partial disability to the worker caused during the course of employment with BRO.
District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Rashid Mir and Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana were present on the occasion.
Assistant Labour Commissioner informed that Hakam Din was casual labour of GREF and Resident of village Rehan in tehsil KoterankaHe said while working on Kandi-Budhal road sustained an injury to his left leg. Haqam Din being poor was unable to receive treatment for the same on his own. He said the compensation amount has been provided under the Employee Compensation Act for permanent/ partial disability to the worker.
The Deputy Commissioner while speaking on the occasion said that it is the responsibility of every citizen of the country to pay respect to the sincere efforts of the labourers in the development of the nation. He assured that the district administration Rajouri is committed to providing the best possible support to the labour community and concerted efforts are being made to ensure their wellbeing and to mitigate their sufferings.
