Lolab, July 9: Authorities on wednesday placed a drug peddler under Public Safety Act(PSA) of Lolab area of north Kashmiri’s Kupwara district.
Officials said that Nisar Ahmed Sheikh son of Hayat Sheikh of Maidanpora Lolab has been involved in FIR No. 01/2029 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Lalpora and FIR no 46 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Sogam and FIR no 149/2016. He has been lodged in central jail Srinagar.
A senior officer of the administration said,that Nisar Ahmad Sheikh was involved in drug peddling in the area, “thereby addicting the youth to do the same”.
Meanwhile, locals hailed the action of administration and urged the police to take strict action against all these odd actions involved in the drug related “nexus.”
