EID MILAN organised through ZOOM at GHSS Handwara, North Kashmir’s reputed institution.

COVID can create physical distances but cannot encroach upon passion and zeal.

Handwara, August 05: An august EID MILAN gathering was organized at Girls Model Higher Secondary School Handwara, one among North Kashmir’s higher seat of learning. The get-together was graced by eminent personalities viz., Director School Education (Mr Mohammad Younas Malik), Chief Education Officer Kupwara (Mr Abdul Hameed Fani), Chairman Municipal Committee Handwara, prominent Civil Society Members, Students and teachers of the institution, besides a rainbow collection of alumni, who have proved their worth in the competitive exams and brought laurels to the institution in their respective areas of work, which include Zoya Zahoor (IIT Roorkie), Farhat and Tabassum Manzoor (NIT Srinagar), Shahnaza (Medical College Baramulla), Tamanna Khalid (Aligarh Muslim University).
Students expressed themselves eloquently. However Zoya Zahoor and Shahnaza engulfed the audience with their outstanding speeches. Chief Education Officer Kupwara felicitated the audience on the eve of EID and showered his words of experience and wisdom. He said young learners stand for our future. They should utilize all the available resources and keep their passion for acquisition of higher studies. Director School Education welcomed the leading role this institute has been playing all along its journey. He viewed the institution as a hope and a guiding star for the institutions surrounding it. While addressing teachers he said that they have a pivotal role in igniting the spark of passion among students and unfold their wings to fly high in the skies. He called the land fertile enough to up bring future leaders which we shall be proud of. Shah Mohammad Iqbal (Lecturer Physics) shared the details how the institution performed during these crucial times of COVID. He described the success of e-learning classes that are being delivered with a team effort during the pandemic. In addition to this, he illustrated the wonderful performance of School Library. In just past one week, hundreds of books have been disbursed among students, besides 660000 copies of notes were fetched to the students. For ascertaining Learning-outcomes, the ICT team of the institution set up an examination software to conduct online exams, besides offline exams are going on with the full support of parents. While concluding the programme the principal showed courtesy to the dignitaries, students and teachers for making the event colorful. He expressed his gratitude for ICT team which incude Mr Gulam Ahmad, Mr Zubair Ahmad, Mr Manzoor Ahamd War, for their magnificient contribution in kick starting the e-learning programme. Teachers associated with Career Counseling Cell were specially thanked which include Mr Shah Mohammad Iqbal, Mr Manzoor Ahmad war(Lecturer Economis), Mr Me’raj-uddin Zargar, and Sufayya Ali whose endless dedication made the programme a great success.
