Jammu and Kashmir reported its first death due to COVID-19 as a 65-year-old man breathed his last at a hospital in Srinagar on Thursday.
“Sad News : First death due to Coronavirus- 65 years old Male from Hyderpora Srinagar. Four of his contacts also tested positive yesterday,” said the government spokesman, Rohit Kansal on Twitter.
Despite our best efforts, the COVID-19 positive patient at Chest Disease Hospital passed away due to cardiac arrest, reports quoting unnamed officials as having said.
The deceased had a history of diabetes, hypertension and obesity, reported news agency GNS. He had recently returned to the valley after visiting Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu.
