Pattan:Acting on Information Pattan police arrested Four gamblers and two drug peddlers on Saturday in Palhallan Pattan of North Kashmir’s Baramulla District.
Sub Divisional Police officer Pattan Zafar Mehdi said that based on reliable inputs, a team of police station Pattan Launched an operation against gambling and rushed towards the gambling site and arrested 4 gamblers on spot while they were gambling in a house owned by Ab Majeed wani of raipora Palhallan.
Some amount of cash,one signed blank check and 52 playing cards were recovered from the spot he adds.
They gamblers were identified as Ab Khaliq Shah, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Habib ullah Ganie and ab Majeed wani all are residents of Palhallan.
In this regard an FIR 130/2020 under section 13G have been lodged and further investigation is going on.
However In its continuous war against drugs Pattan police yesterday arrested two persons and recovered 8 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession.
During the Naka a tavera vehicle bearing registration no. JK09 3954 was asked to stop for routine checking in main market pattan,during checking police arrested two drug paddlers and recovered codiene phosphate an official said.
The accused Yaqoob Ahmad Bhat resident of Goushbugh & Maqsood ahmad resident of Aglar Pattan were arrested and contraband substance was seized on spot he adds.
In this connection FIR 131/2020 under section 8/21-NDPS ACT stands registered in police station Pattan and further investigation taken up.
