Half Dozen Shops Looted In Sopore, Property Worth Lacs Stolen

Shopkeepers Staged Protest Against Traders Federation, Administration

Sopore: Burglars took undue advantage of darkness in Northern Baramulla district and looted half dozen of shops in Sopore town.

Reports reached to this correspondent said, Burglars during the intervening night struck in different markets of Sopore town and looted over half dozen of shops and decamped with goods and valuables worth lakhs.

It added that, Shop of Azad Ahmed , Fayaz Ah Zaki, Naseer Ahmed Zaki, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat, Bashir Ahmed Sofi, Manzoor Ahmed Ganie, Ghulam Mohammad Sofi were looted at Shah Faisal Market Nowpora road Sopore in the town and burglars decamped with valuables worth lakhs.

Reports also added that, locks of many other shops at Iqbal market side were also broken by burglars.

According to an eyewitness, Shopkeepers at Shah Faisal Market staged protest demonstration against the Traders Federation as well as Administration

They were raising slogans against traders federation and civil administration, he said.

Meanwhile, police has taken cognizance of these burglary incidents and investigations have been taken up.

However, President Sopore Economic Alliance, Haji Muhammad Ashraf Ganaie urged the administration and police to check these incidents and book the culprits under law.
