Handwara Police Cricket League Concluded, Spartans Took Trophy By Winning Over Ramhal Brothers

Handwara: Handwara Police Cricket League (HPCL) concluded on Wednesday as Spartans Handwara took the trophy.
The finals were played between Spartans Handwara and Ramhal Brothers in which Spartans Handwara make their trophy by winning the match by 34 runs.
The Tournament ( Play For Peace) was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police under Civic Action Programme.
Handwara Police Cricket League was earlier  flagged off by Jammu and Kashmir’s Police Chief, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh in a colourful function at Sports Ground Bakihakar Handwara.
Handwara Police Cricket League (HPCL) was an initiative of Handwara Police under Civic Action Programme and the endeavor was to engage the youth of the district in cricket and to provide them a platform to shape their talent.
In the tournament atleast 32 teams took part besides the matches were played on knock out basis.
During the finals Spartans Handwara emerged winner and bagged prize money of Rs 75,000 and a trophy which was presented by the Police chief himself.
Besides winning team other players were awarded too as Lala was declared Man of the Match and Khalid Ahmad as Man of the series.
On this occasion various dignitaries were present including Police chief Sh Dilbag Singh, IGP Kashmir Sh Vijay Kumar, DIG north Sh Sulieman, SP Handwara Sh G V Sundeep Chakravarthy and other officials from Army, CRPF besides some civil dignitaries as well.
Speaking on the occasion Director General of Police (DGP) sh Dilbag Singh said J&K Police is always here to help the youths but all we need is the youth who should come forward and grab the opportunities.
He also appreciated the efforts of Handwara Police in engaging youth of the district in sports activities.
Meanwhile SP Handwara sh G V Sundeep Chakravarthy thanked Director General of Police sh Dilbag Singh and other officers for encouraging the participants by gracing the occasion.
