Kupwara, July 15: Residents of a Guloora area of Handwara are facing shortage of water due to illegal water connections.
Residents alleged PHE for negligence and said concerned department is not paying attention towards problems of the particular area.
They also said , “there are no alternative sources of water. We don’t have a drop of water from last three days .”
“We are suffering due to the shortage of drinking water from last three days and department hardly bothers to take any necessary action”, locals said,
Locals told that they had taken this matter with the higher authority many a times but nothing was done.
Locals also alleged that PHE employees do not attend duties regularly and urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter as soon as possible so that they won’t suffer in future
As per the offical of the concerned department, “All the illegal connections, if any, will be removed at the earliest.”
