J&K Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU ) held protests on Thursday at several places throughout Jammu & Kashmir (UT) and Ladakh at different areas, District and Tehsil Head Quarters to convey their anger and anguish over the Govt. Of India’s recent anti working class measures in the name of fighting the COVID 19 Pandemic and demanded to revoke the recent draconian decisions like freezing of DA to Govt.
Employees and Pensioners, amendment in labour laws, extension of working hours, freezing of permanent nature of jobs, retrenchments in Govt. Departments and PSUS etc.
Leaders and activists of JKCCTU and affiliated departmental Unions including large number of Employees in their respective areas highlighted slogans against the anti employees measures of central, State Govts. and J&K (UT) administration and while maintaining social distances and keeping COVID protocol in mind with play cards in their hands demanded the following:
- Withdraw the recent decent decision of freezing DA and other allowances of Govt. Employees and pensioners.
- Regularize the services of all temporary workers/Daily wagers like casual, contract, Anganwadi and Asha workers etc.
- Ensure minimum wage not less than Rs 18000/pm. and release all pending wages of temporary workers.
- Withdraw the draconian decisions of amendments in labour laws and extension of working hours beyond 8 hour a day.
- Implement SRO 59 in works departments like PDD, PHE, R&B etc and settle all pending pension cases immediately.
- Provide skill wages to all IT diploma holders of PHE, PDD, and other departments till regularization.
- Withdraw obnoxious Electricity Bill 2020 and recent decision to privatize the Distribution system of UTs including J&K power sector.
- Ensure full democratic and trade union rights and 4 G intermet in Jammu and Kashmir.
- Provide the safety measure to all those who are fighting the pandemic as front line workers and All those employees maintaining essential supplies and ensuring services to the common people.
- Fill up all existing class vacancies by regularizing the services of casual, contract and other temporary workers like PDD under SRO 381.
