Sopore : A journalist based in north Kashmir was arrested during midnight raid at his residence in Sopore area of North kashmir, family said.
Junaid Shafeeq Peer, who works for Tameel Irshad, the largest circulating Urdu daily in Kashmir, was picked up from his home on Tuesday night. The journalist, according to the newspaper sources, covers north Kashmir’s Sopore for the newspaper and is a resident of Khankah Moula Sopore in district Baramulla.
“They (security forces) arrived at our home at 11.30 pm last night. After searches they told junaid to come with them along with his gadgets including laptop, family said.
Asked why Junaid has been detained, SP Sopore told that he has been detained for questioning.
