Kupwara: A far off Budnamal Village of Kupwara made headlines after its local student has made for prestigious MBBS .
It is unusual in nature due to low literacy rate and below average developmental status of this areas .It is first time in history , someone from this area has qualified for Goverment Sponsored Medical studies.
Zubair Ahmad Lone, the only son Of his parents and brother of six sisters got admission after second round of counseling through JK BOPEE in Govt Medical College Baramulla for MBBS.
Zubair, started his education from Budnumbal, passed 10th from Boys High School,Budnumbal and 12th from Hr Sec School, Halmatpora,Kupwara Later came Srinagar for NEET tuitions to fulfill the dream of parents.
Zubair’s father is a farmer and mother house wife, who struggled hole life or their son to help him to full fill his dreams ,now they are proud of their son. “We had always high hopes on him as his interest in medical studies had been always impressive. Sometimes we had to sacrifice our own needs to keep his pocket full with money , now Allah has bestowed us with great blessing,” said his parents .
A local teacher Showkat Ahmad also shared his happiness about this unprecedented development . Showkat, is hopeful about this young boy , ” I am hopeful that he will serve the poor natives who have no access to Modern world in the 21st century”.
