Kupwara: A 32-year-old labourer died and another sustain injuries after coming under a wooden log in Lolab forests of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Reports reaching to the Inside Kashmir reads that the incident occured this afternoon around 12:30Pm at Lolab Affan forests where the laborers were engaged by the Forest department at Compartment Number 61 of NL Range were clearing the area of logs and deadwood.
In the incident one Ghulam Hassan Mir son of Saif-ud-Din Mir of Affan Lolab died on spot after a wooden log hit him on his head.Another one person was identified as Ghulam Ahmad Wagay belonging to Charar-i-Shareef of Budgam has also sustain serious injuries.
The injured has been evacuated to District Hospital Kupwara,where his situation is said to be critical and now has been referred to Srinagar.
Confirming the incident “SHO Kuligam,Mudasir Ahmad”told”Inside Kashmir”that the body of the deceased has been retrieved and has been sent for the post mortem.
“We have launched an inquiry into the incident to certify the cause of the accident”, he added
