It’s lockdown time in most parts of the world and sports stars are trying to keep themselves busy at their homes in the absence of sporting events across the globe due to the novel coronavirus crisis.
India cricketers, who would have been busy with Indian Premier League (IPL) duties, are spending time away from the game following the suspension of the T20 tournament due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
From household chores to spending quality time with their families, the star cricketers are dealing with the lockdown in multiple ways.
As it turns, MS Dhoni is making sure his lawn is perfect by mowing it himself during the lockdown. Sakshi, Dhoni’s wife, took to social media to share first glimpses of her husband following his return from the pre-season training camp in Chennai.
Dhoni was seen wearing a sleeveless blue t-shirt and a track pant as he was using the lawnmower at his residence.
Notably, MS Dhoni has not played international cricket since India’s World Cup 2019 exit in July last year. Speculations were rife about Dhoni’s future after his prolonged absence from the game but he made his intentions clear by turning up early for a training camp with the Chennai Super Kings in March.
Dhoni’s training camp with CSK was cut-short as the IPL franchise suspended the training session due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.
There is uncertainty surrounding Dhoni’s international cricket future, considering the uncertainty over IPL 2020. Nonetheless, former India pacer and CSK bowling coach L Balaji said Dhoni trained with the same intensity that he is known for and that he is taking it one day at a time.
“MS Dhoni was looking good, fit. He focussed on training just like he always does and was as normal as he has always been. He trained like the way he did last year or 2 years ago. There is nothing that changes when it comes to his preparation. His routine, his mindset, everything is the same,” Balaji had told indiatoday.in.
