Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has stated that the state police had cancelled a Tablighi Jamaat event, which was to be held in mid-March and expected to have around 50,000 attendees. Stating that the organisers of the event refused to cancel it at first, Deshmukh added, “We told them if they went ahead, we will have to take legal action.”
