Market Checking Conducted In karnah

Enforcement Squad of Department of Food, Civil Supplies , nodal officer COVID19 and tehsildar karnah today realised a fine of Rs 6200 from erring shopkeepers in various markets of karnah Kupwara districts.

The squad led by Nodal officer COVID19 and Incharge Essential commodities Towheed Ahmed, also imposed fines on various shopkeepers forSelling expired stock, overcharging and non-display of rate lists.

The team inspected scores of establishments including vegetable, fruit (venders), butchers, chicken , bakery and medical shops in the different villages of karnah.

A fine of Rs 6200 was recovered from the errant shopkeepers by checking squad after they were found failing to maintain the quality of food items, putting on rate list of all essential commodities, expiry of products, illegal and excess profiteering and sale of underweight products.

They also Destroyed Rotten vegetables and expiry items Approximately of Rs 170000 and seized 10 kg of
