Police on Sunday evening claimed to have recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from Keran sector of north Kashmir’s kupwara district after apprehending militant associate group sources said.
According to officials , five militant associates were arrested by sopore police who were involved in providing logistics support and shelter to active militant operation in the northern region of Kashmir.Acting on input, joint operation was launched by 6 RR ( army) and jand k police (kupwara and sopore) in keran sector of kupwara on 22 March 2020 and certain war like store were recovered.Official sources termed this as a major success and said that war like stores were recovered which included eight A.k Assault rifles , 9 pistol 9mm one thousand Ak Rds and seventy hand grenades during search operation in the area.The recovery has subverted efforts to create major unrest in North Kashmir
