The inhabitants of Dooniwari,Kanthpora and Cheerkote Lolab are facing water scarcity amid during this lockdown.
According to the reports reaching to the Inside Kashmir that multiple areas of Lolab including Kanthpora,Dooniwari and Cheerkote in North Kashmir’s kupwara district on Thursday expresses anguish towards Jal Sakhti department due to shortage of water from last several days.
We the residents of Dooniwari and Kathpora are suffering a lot due to shortage of water supply.Old water supply situated at potushai lolab is frequently used for irrigation of paddy crops by residents of potushai lolab instead of drinking facility,Said one of the local from Dooniwari Lolab.
We are requesting that either the old water supply should be restored fully or the new water supply should be completed in no time, so that the residents of Dooniwari and Kathpora Lolab may not suffer more,added another local from Kantpora.
Taking this issue with Concerned AEE Ab Majeed,he said over Phone that claim is genuine and I visited the spot along with other emplooyees and matter needs some reparing and we are on the job and within days this problem would be solved and water will be restored in these ares.
