National Convention of NUJI on 26-27 August in Jaipur

A strategy will be made to fight the problems of the Media world

Jaipur/New Delhi, 28th July: The National Congress of the National Union of Journalists (India) affiliated with the International Federation of Journalists, Brussels, will be held on August 26–27, 2023, at the NIMS University Auditorium, Jaipur. More than 1500 journalists from across the country will participate in the conference organised by the Journalists Association of Rajasthan (JAR).

In the conference, resolutions will be passed demanding the formation of a journalist security law, a media council, and a media commission. Harassment of journalists, illegal retrenchment from newspapers and channels, and discussing all the issues of the media world will lead to a strategy to start the movement.

NUJI President Ras Bihari, Secretary General Pradeep Tiwari, Vice President Vimlesh Sharma, NUJ Executive Member and former president of JAR Rakesh Sharma, Former General Secretary and Executive member of JAR Sanjay Saini, JAR General Secretary Bhag Singh, JAR Jaipur Rural President Jagdish Sharma, NIMS University Jaipur visited the venue and addressed a press conference. It is worth mentioning that this National Convention is being organised after 2018. NUJ- India President, Ras Bihari said that earlier a national conference was organised in Bhopal. The national convention could not be organised due to the COVID pandemic and other reasons.


NUJI Secretary General , Pradeep Tiwari said that after the national convention held in Ranchi in 2018, representatives from 28 states will participate in this convention. He informed that prominent ministers of the Central and State Governments have been invited to the inaugural session of the National Convention to be held on August 26, 2023.

Former JAR president Rakesh Sharma told that a grand national convention was organised in 1995 in Jaipur during the tenure of senior journalist and editor-in-chief of Mahanagar Times Gopal Sharma as JAR Rajasthan president. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, then Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, inaugurated the conference. This time, also prominent ministers from the Central and State governments will participate in the National Convention.

JAR President Subhash Sharma and General Secretary Bhag Singh said that under the leadership of NUJI President Ras Bihari, the organisation is fighting for all the issues in the media world.

Ras Bihari has been elected president at the National Media Conference of the Confederation of Newspapers and News Agencies Employees Union held in Delhi. Journalists from all over Rajasthan are cooperating to organisers the National Convention of the NUJ.

For this, programmes are being organized in various districts and National President Ras Bihari and General Secretary Pradeep Tiwari also addressed the conferences. (Press Release).
