NHM, employees on Sunday have appealed to the Lieutenant governor’s administration to issue Ex Gratia relief as soon as possible in the favour of Dr. Shabir Ahmad Malik.

Dr. Shibar Ah from Bandipora, who recently died of the epidemic, should now be the first priority of the government to monitor his family. It is said that Dr. Shibar Malik  was self-sufficient in a single house but  Now that he is gone, his survivors have come under the open sky and it is now the responsibility of the government to take concrete steps in their favour, said NHM President Muneer Andrabi.

NHM Employees also believe that if the government does not do so, we will have to take drastic action in this regard.

On the 28th of July, the National Health Mission (NHM) fraternity lost one of their frontline Covid warriors, Dr Shabir Ahmad Malik, of Sumbal Bandipora, posted in Gurez. The death of the doctor is a tragic loss to the healthcare fraternity and his family.

National Health Mission employees have been crying at the peak of their voices for last more than one decade demanding social security to the employees and their families. It remains a fact that once an employee loses his life in service of the people, his salary gets stopped on that very day, leaving his family, children and relatives high and dry,Muneer Andrabi further added.

Moreover,In case the government fails to fulfil the genuine demands of the employees working under NHM,RNTCP and NACO with regard to the social security, the NHM employees shall have no alternative to resort to protest strike, the fallout of which shall wholly and squarely lie on the authorities concerned.
