Journalist and his partner were burnt alive in Balrampur by the bullies.
New Delhi November 29, 2020 :- The National Union of Journalists (India) strongly condemned the brutal killing of Rakesh Singh Nirbhek (36), a reporter working for a daily published from Lucknow the Dabangas burned the journalist present in the house with his partner alive. In the statement given before the death in the hospital, Rakesh was screaming that he was writing a big news. For this reason, the Panch and the headmen burnt him alive.
NUJ(I) President Ras Bihari said that NUJ(I) worried and shocked with increasing incidents in the state and concerned over the safety of reporters. We appeal to the state government to set up a high-level judicial committee to probe the incident and culprits should be nabbed immediately. The NUJ(I)’s demand for the enactment of the Journalists Protection Act is endorsing this incident. We strongly condemn the gruesome murder of young journalist. We urge all not to bracket themselves with common people since the journalists enjoy a special place in the society and are looked as pillars of democracy.
