Srinagar, March 31 : Police on Tuesday morning claimed to have recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from Keran sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Acting on input, joint operation was launched by 6 RR (Army) and J&K police (Kupwara and Keran) in Keran sector of Kupwara on 31 March 2020 and certain war like stores were recovered.
Official sources termed this as a major success and said war like stores were recovered which included 02 AK Assault rifles, 01 Pistol 9mm and one hundred eighty AK rounds during search operation in the area. Sustained operations in the area has negated efforts by miltants to transport weapons into hinterland to disrupt peace.
