An official said that Police took cognizance over misuse of social media, arrested a person in Central kashmir’s Ganderbal district for abusing / threat comment in an text message of an official Facebook account of District Police Ganderbal.
Meanwhile in this regard a case has been registered FIR No. 74/2020 under section 506, 505 IPC at Police station Ganderbal after which Ganderbal Police starts investigation.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmed Poswal constituted a team headed by SHO Police Station Sadder Ganderbal Insp Khursheed Ahmad to nab the culprit.
During investigating this case, surveillance unit (ESU) Ganderbal intercepted the accused’s Facebook account (Rancho Khan), the said account is operating by one namely Tawseef Ahmad Son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat Resident of Padshahi Bagh Tilwanpora, Srinagar.
The said accused was accordingly arrested by the said team.
SSP Ganderbal warned to refrain from misuse of social media platforms and circulation of unauthenticated information etc through such platforms.
Any person found indulging in such activities will be dealt with strictly under Law.
