Sopore, Oct 21 : Police commemoration day which is observed every year on October 21st to salute the brave hearts, who sacrificed their lives, was today observed at district police lines (DPL) Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Rich tributes were paid to the policemen who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Besides a blood donation camp in collaboration with SDH Sopore was also organised honouring the sacrifice of martyrs of the nation, the spokesman said.
Participating at an event here, Superintendent of Police Sopore, Sudhanshu Verma-IPS prayed for peace for departed personnel and also for the prosperity and welfare of their families.
Their supreme sacrifice is an inspiration to everyone who proudly wears the khakhi, Sudhanshu said.
Later, senior police officer interacted with the next of kins of the deceased policemen and distributed special gifts as a token of respect to them.
