Residential house gutted in fire in North Kashmir’s Boniyar

Baramulla: A residential house gutted in fire incident in north Kashmir’s Boniyar on Sunday morning, officials told.
The residential house of Abdul Ahad Tantray caught up in fire during intervening night of 6 & 7 February 2021. According to reports the family members of Tantray were sleeping when fire broke out in third storey of the house, resulting the instant catch-up and caused damage to other two houses.
Soon after the incident, Uri Police, Response Team and locals quickly reached to the spot and tried to douse the fire. 
Army’s 25 Punjab, Fire tenders of CISF and Fire & Emergency Department also eventually followed. After deliberate efforts by the joint teams, the fire was brought under control and it was ensured that it does not spread to adjoining houses. The locals expressed their gratitude to the Army and the efforts by local administration for quick action in controlling the fire. Locals wholeheartedly appreciated SHO Boniyar 25 Punjab who did superb job in Bernate fire incident as well as in today’s Boniyar fire incident. 
According to prima-facie the cause of fire seems to be short circuit, however further investigations taken up.
Meanwhile, the DC also announced cash relief of Rs 30,000 each out of the district red cross fund for the two victim families.
Further he has directed Revenue officials to prepare the records under Rules for Ex-gratia Relief admissible under Rules. (IK)
