Budgam, July 31: To the dismay of entire Municipal committee of Charari Sharief, SDM Chadoora has threatened the sanitization staff of suspending for not obliging his order with regard to garbage removal from quarantine centres.
SDM has ordered the sanitization supervisor to remove the garbage from quarantine centres of Charar-i-Sharief against the WHO Guidelines and the guidelines issued by Government of India. i.e. all the waste, trash or garbage from quarantine centres shall be dumped in the immediate area of the quarantine centres only.
However, the said SDM directed the sanitization supervisor to take away the garbage to some place of his choice and when asked what about the WHO guidelines he replied, “I hardly care about the guidelines.”
Further Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Nazir Ahmad who is posted at Chadoora and having additional charge of Municipal Committee Charar-i-Sharief. has not visited more than five times the office at MC Charar-i-Sharief.
“Some 80 positive cases were treated here in this Quarantine center and the garbage taken out of the gate of this facility may spread the virus in the locality if it’s infected. As per WHO and GOI guidelines, the waste is supposed to be buried in the pits within the premises of the Quarantine centre. I request the Lieutenant Governor, Divisional Commissioner, and the DC Budgam that they should ensure that guidelines are followed here too,”said President MC Charar-i-Sharief Zahid Hussain Jan.
