Sericulture Development Department J&K In Unison With College of Temperate Sericulture Organises Day-Long Demonstration Camp In Lolab Village

Kupwara: Sericulture Development Department J&K In Unison With College of temperate sericulture on Wednesday organises a day-long demonstration camp in view to generate the income of the farmers of Sericulture.The camp was organised in Kuligam,village in Lolab of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“The main objective of the camp was to impart on-spot training about errection of low cost rearing hut where silkworm  rearing can be conducted with ease and on scientific lines.The huts which are ten in number are being erected under externally funded project by “NABARD” and the project is being implemented in collaboration with Sericulture Development Department J&K”,reads the statement issued here,

The event was attended by the officials from the department including Sericulture District Officer,Manzoor Ahmad Sofi,Associate Dean of College Prof.M.F.Baqual alongside with his team of scientists besides the BDC Mohd Rafiq Kataria and Sarpanch Gh Hassan of the area and beneficiaries of  Sericulture Development Department.

During the day-long event,distribution of material required for the fabrication of huts was also Undertaken.

Communicating with the media at sideline of the event,Prof. M. F. Baqual along with other representatives expressed the importance of such huts and ensured that such initiatives will boost and uplift the source of income of the farmer’s if they use it in a proper and rightful way.

He also paid his gratitude to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K Prof.Nazir Ahmad Ganai for taking interest in sericulture expansion”,adding “most thankful to “NABARD” also for funding the project.

Dr Khurshid,on the occasion made some self attempts and asked the farmer’s how we can make these huts and how they can provide us benefits in time to come.He also shared his experience regarding the said camp.

BDC Wavoora Mohd Rafiq Kataria alongside with his Sub-Ordinate Sarpanch Mohd Hassan thanked the Sericulture Development Department J&K and College of Temperate Sericulture for organising an informative camp here in this remote area.

While talking with media at the sideline of the function,BDC Wavoora Mohd Rafiq Kataria said that “we are most thankful for the Sericulture Development Department J&K and College of Temperate Sericulture for organising this awareness camp here in the area.He alos urges the people of Kuligam to take utmost benefits of the schemes being provided by the department.
