Sopore: Police on Wednesday said, that they have arrested five gamblers, and recovered stake money in north Kashmir’s Sopore in Baramulla district.
Official said, upon specific information regarding gambling at Bulgam orchards, a police team led by Station House Officer (SHO) Tarzoo Bilal Khanday and IC Police Post Puthkha SI Sajad Ahmed under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Raja Majid-JKPS raided the spot and arrested five gamblers besides recovery of stake money and Deck of playing cards.
Official identified the arrested gamblers as Muhammad Ramzan Mir S/O Ghulam Hassan Mir, Muhammad Akbar Ganie S/O Ab Samad Ganie, Showkat Ahmad Ganie S/O Mohd Ramzan Ganie, Manzoor Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Muhammad Mir all the residents of Bulgam and Tariq Ahmad Rather S/O Ghulam Rasool Rather R/O Chotipora Hygam.
Meanwhile a case FIR No 50/2021 U/S 13 Gambling act stands registered in Police Station Tarzoo.
