Alexandra Secondary School Kupwara organises day long Awareness Program in Town Hall Kupwara

Kupwara: (IK)Alexandera Secondary School Kupwara on thursday organised a day long awareness programme regarding surge in suicide cases at Town Hall Kupwara.
As per the statement lies with Inside Kashmir states that,In view to render perceptions to the generic people about the sincerity of accelerative self destructive cases, Alexandera Secondary school kupwara on Thursday organised a day long awareness programme in Town Hall Kupwara.
In the programme,approximately 200 students from different institutions participated in the same programme.
On the Occasion DC kupwara,Imam Ud Din graced the occasion as Cheif Guest.Besides cheif guest,CEO Kupwara,Ab Hamid Fani,Private School Association Jammu and Kashmir President GN Var,Molvi Abdul Aziz Qureshi,Mufti Bashir Ahmad,Islamic scholars,prominent speakers and Dr Ajaz Ah Bhat President doctors association Kupwara,Mir Fayaz EJAC,Sheikh Parvaiz director events and sports PSA,Social Activits and Human Rights Activits were also present on the occasion and yielded the students about the self addiction.
Chairman Alexandra Sec School,M A Baba said that “the main focus was intended to disseminate awareness among the participants regarding mental health and prevention of suicide”,
Molvi Abdul Aziz Qureshi and Mufti Bashir Ahmad highlighted the religious perspective regarding suicide and mental health”,
Dr Ajaz Ahmad Bhat focused on causes of suicide and role of family in the treatment.
“He discussed the various types of suicides and various risk factors contributing to it especially domestic violence”,
“Mir Fayaz highlighted the socio- economic factors contributing to suicide and preventive measures thereof”
“Among teenagers,suicide attempts may be associated with feelings of stress,self-doubt,pressure to succeed,financial uncertainty,disappointment,and loss.For some teens,suicide may appear to be a solution to their problems”,He added
Meanwhile on the occasion,Deputy commissioner Kupwara gave thrust on various aspects of mental health and preventive measures of suicide especially in youth,
The CEO kupwara Mr Ab Hameed Fani demonstrate the majority of children and adolescents who attempt suicide have a significant mental health disorder, usually depression among younger children, suicide attempts are often impulsive.They may be associated with feelings of sadness,confusion,anger,or problems with attention and hyperactivity.
During the deliberations,socio-economic,Physiological and Psychological causes and also preventive measures of suicide were discussed.
Later President Private School Association JK GN Var addressed the students about the surrounding mental disorders and suicide many people thinking of taking their own life or who have attempted suicide are not seeking help and are therefore not getting the help they need.The prevention of suicide has not been adequately addressed due to a lack of awareness of suicide as a major public health problem and the taboo in many societies to openly discuss it.
Raising community awareness and breaking down the taboo is important for countries to make progress in preventing suicide.
The participants were encouraged to adopt positive approach,to correct their parenting styles and to encourage others to do the same,
An effective and simple way for the overall mental and psychological development was also shared with the participants,
Some important psychiatric day to day aspects of stress were also highlighted by the expert panellists.
