SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH CELEBRATED IN KUPWARA

Kupwara: Continuing the celebrations to mark 50 jubilant years of India’s victory over Pakistan , the Victory Flame which entered the Kashmir Valley on 15 Jun 21, reached Kupwara on 08 Jul 21 . It was welcomed by the Veterans who participated in 1971 war , Ex servicemen, district officials and youth.

The celebrations started with Wreath Laying Ceremony at 68 Mountain Brigade HQ followed by procession of flame in Kupwara. It was led by the Motor Rally of roaring Bullets with National Flag waving on all motor bikes.

Soon the procession reached Kupwara Town and from there the flame was handed over to Lt Col Puneet Kataria, Officiating Commanding Officer, 41 Rashtriya Rifles (MARATHA LI) .

It received an overwhelming welcome in Kupwara by Riyaz Ahmed, Mayor of Kupwara, Sanaullah Khan, DDC Hayhama, Veterans and other local personalities.

Locals were astonished to see the zealous show which was led by team of Zaanch Padak and Lezim of Indian Army and marching contigent of NCC Boys

Celebrations continued in 28 Infantry Division where young kids of Army Good Will Schools of Trehgam and Wayne put up a heart warming performance on various patriotic songs .

The program was attended by all local dignitaries including DC Kupwara, ASP Kupwara, DDCs and other officers.

In the end, The Victory Flame was handed over to Col Karthikey, Commanding Officer, 3 RAJRIF to continue its journey to Machchal .
