Kupwara: In a move amid challenging Adminstration’s writ , from last few days, transporters have stopped services for Kralpora village against ARTO’s action on illegal hike in fare.
According to our reporter , in many areas including Chowkibal, Lolab, Kralpora, Trehgam, Hyhama and Sogam, people were complaining about the illegal hike in fare from last many weeks consistently against which ARTO Kupwara seized vehicles and warned of dire consequences.
“In order to keep the fare coincided with Govt rates, many sumo drivers were fined in Kralpora and Handwara area in past some days.
The action of department is widely being appreciated . People are hopeful for the drive against illegal transport fare hike in other areas of district also and we will continue,” said an official of ARTO.
However, while reacting to Adminstration’s action , Union of transporters suspended services for Kralpora village, locals allege.
Locals of Guzriyal village Kralpora area said that , sumo service has been stopped after the action from ARTO. People appeal adminstration for effective steps so that the writ of Adminstration is reinstated .
