Al-Jawad Sports Club,Srinagar Lifts the Trophy

Kupwara: Two days Volleyball Championship for women’s has concluded on Tuesday.Al-Jawad Sports Club,Srinagar and Team Strikers Volleyball Club, Baramulla clashed in final match in which Al-Jawad sports defeated Strikers Volleyball Club Baramulla by 3-0.
As per the statement lies with Inside Kashmir which reads,Indian Army on 04 October organised a volleyball championship for women across kashmir valley in the remote area of Lolab,Kupwara in UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
A total of eight teams from Srinagar,Ganderbal,Handwara, Kupwara and Lolab competed in the tournament on knock out basis.
The Final matche was played on 05 Sep 2021 between Al-Jawad Sports Club,Srinagar and Team Strikers Volleyball Club,Baramulla in which Team Al-Jawad Sports Club,Srinagar scored 3-0 and won the 02 days Volleyball Championship for Women.
The winning team was accorded with a trophy and cash prize award of Rupees ten thousand and title of “Girls Volleyball Championship 2021″and the runner’s team was given runners up trophy and a cash award of Rupees 5000.
The event was witnessed by SDM Lolab Aijaz Ahmad Bhat,DSP Aijaz Ahmad Naik,BMO Dr Fareed and various other Civil and Army dignitaries in the presence of around 200 people who encouraged the team participants through motivational slogans which was really eye-capturing glimpse of the event.
The initiative of organising Volleyball tournament for women was a bid to identify sporting talents and provide the women of Kashmir the immense opportunities to excel in sports.
Spokesman while communicating said that “the whole credits goes to the Nelofer one and only volleyball women coach and professional volleyball referee from remote area Lolab valley”,
Pertinently,This is the first ever Volleyball Championship for girls being organised in the remote area of Lolab Valley,wherein teams from all over Kashmir mainly from north and central Kashmir have participated and made the event successful.(IK)
