Unending Traffic Jams Irks Commuters In Sopore Town, Locals Seek Intervention Of Higher Ups

Sopore: Frequent traffic jams in main town Sopore have left people in distress while administration is watching the scene as ‘mute-spectator’.

Reports reaching to The Inside Kashmir said, that the illegal parking on the road side in north Kashmir’s Sopore town causes huge inconvenience to the people especially to school going children, patients and other commoners.

A local told the correspondent that, it takes us 30 mins to reach the destination of just 2 Kms because of the traffic jam which are being witnessed on daily basis in the town.

“Administration is watching as “mute spectator” in this regard and it speaks their failure, he added.

Another local told that, the main reason for the traffic jams are the shopkeepers and street vendors taking footpaths while administration seems helpless, he said

“We have seen many raids by MC Sopore so far but unable to understand why it failed to curb the mess completely, he added.

Meanwhile locals of Sopore town have appealed higher authorities to intervene into the matter at an earliest and ensure hassle-free traffic movement besides evicting encroachers.
