RAJOURI, JUNE, 20:
District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Rajouri today on the instructions of Finance Department and Director General Jandk E&S A.K Gandotra, inspected various developmental works executed by the Public Works Department, out of the works enlisted by the Finance Department under 100% Physical Verification.
Around 185 Nos of projects are to verified at first instance, belonging to different departments, for which District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Rashid constituted different teams comprising of officers/officials of Planning Development and Monitoring department (Now Finance Department), who are visiting the various areas of the District, to ascertain the factual position regarding the execution of the projects on ground and their utility cum outcome, after completion, being public benefitted schemes. The teams have been assigned the task to carry out the hundred percent physical verification of works/ Project in the district.
*Mr. Bilal also sought record like Detailed Project Report, Copy of AAA and Technical Sanction and present Status of the works in question and visited the sites for physical verification. While talking to Media he elaborated that, *District Development Commissioner Mohammad Nazir Sheikh (KAS)* has also assigned some enquiries and verification/Evaluation Studies, to analyse the outcome indicators, to know the actual impact the scheme, which are also under way.
He further informed that, Projects of R&B Department namely Const. of Road from PHE complex to sat tent house, Const. of road from Panja chowk to kheora U limb and Const. of Internal roads BGSBU with approved cost of Rs. 20.15 lacs, Rs. 51.65 lacs and Rs. 32.84 lacs respectively have been inspected today, which are ongoing projects and observations made at the spot shall be reflected in the report.
While speaking on the occasion the DSEO said that the exercise is being carried out to strengthen the institution of Monitoring and Evaluation right from the ground level of the official machinery for bringing transparency, accountability and efficiency in government expenditure, so that UT exchequer could not be slanted.
He said till date the teams have inspected 68 number of projects pertaining to Education, Health, Urban Local bodies, irrigation and Flood control and Public Works Department. The projects so inspected are being executed by RDD, PWD, Irrigation & Flood control, Executing agency of SAMAGRA and by the respective technical wing of Municipal Council and Municipal Committees. Mohd Qasim, Asstt. Executive Engineer, PWD, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Statistical Assistant DSEO Office, Danish Sheikh Junior Engineer, Work Supervisors & other related staff remained present during the verification.
